A certain place in Tokyo. The premises of a large station in a major city, a symbol of the hustle and bustle of the city. A beautiful teacher, Maki, carried her bag in her hand and dutifully made her way to the platform. Then she boarded the train and looked out the window with a wistful look in her eyes. She was headed for a country town where she had previously been assigned. She was heading there to teach English to her former student, Sanada, who still lived there. Two years ago, Maki was transferred to the city center and left the country town.
